Baby Pictures

No pictures today :( That's because I wasn't the one taking them. Amelia took Sawyer's baby pictures that will go out on his birth announcements that she is doing. You can check out more of her pictures at www.ameliajmoore.com she does a wonderful job. I'm so excited to see how they turn out! Then, Kerri, Kenzie, Camden, Scott, Amelia, Micah, Elliot, Matt, Me, and Sawyer all went out to dinner at Applebee's. Sawyer was a little fussy while we were trying to eat but luckily Uncle Scott was able to calm him down and make him fall asleep. Good news, Matt and I were both able to finish our dinners tonight.

First "Real" Bath 7-29-10

Yesterday Sawyer had his first real bath. Matt and I gave it to him with the help of Aunt Kerri, Granny, and Kenzie. He didn't really like it at first, but ended up calming down a bit towards the end. Here are some pictures:

Later in the day Scott, Amelia, Micah and Elliot came for to celebrate Kenzie's birthday with everyone. Tim and Kim also stopped by to say hi really quick on their way to Kim's brother's wedding. After dinner everyone decided to go the mall for a bit. Matt and I decided that it would be good to get out of the house and take Sawyer on a stroller ride where it is air conditioned. Sawyer doesn't even know that he went to the mall because he slept through the whole thing. Here are pictures from Sawyer's first outting to the mall:

2 Week Check Up

The doctor visit today went a lot better compared to last time. We had to take all of Sawyer's clothes off including his diaper for them to weigh him. We decided it was best to keep the diaper on until right when the nurse came back in the room so he didn't go to the bathroom while Matt was holding him keeping him warm. When the nurse came in Matt took the diaper off and was getting ready to hand Sawyer over when I thought I saw pee running down Matt's shirt. I started laughing and told him that Sawyer peed on him. The nurse said, "That's not pee, that's poop!" So while Matt found it funny that Sawyer peed on me through his diaper yesterday, I found it pretty funny that Sawyer pooped on Matt's shirt today. Then Sawyer continued to go poop and potty all over the scale. Oh well, it was pretty funny and the nurse was laughing too. Good news is Sawyer has grown! He now weighs 8 pounds and 12 ounces, almost 13 ounces. Last week at the doctor he weight 7 pounds and 12 ounces. He is also 21 inches long now. It looked like his mild jaundice has gone away which is also good news and everything else looked healthy! We got to take the stroller to the doctor this time and I'm pretty sure that Sawyer loved riding in it! When we got home he was pretty worn out from everything and took a 3 hour nap! Today was definitely a good day. Sawyer on his way to the doctor, he doesn't look happy

Enjoying his first stroller ride given by daddy
and.. when we got home from the doctor Sawyer received his first package addressed to just himself in the mail. He enjoyed listening to his new wind up duck for a little while from Pat and Kathy Kaup. Thank you so much, Sawyer loves it!

Grandma Judy Leaves...

Sad to see Grandma leave

Getting ready to leave for the airport

On our way to the airport :(

Sawyer slept pretty well again last night, only waking up a few times :). Today my mom had to leave and go back to Oregon. It wasn't easy to tell her bye after having her here for 3 weeks. It was a really nice time together though she helped me get everything ready for Sawyer and helped me pack my bag and Sawyer's bag for the hospital. Not to mention we got to go shopping and have pedicures too. It was also wonderful having her here for when Sawyer was born, and after so they could spend some time together. It's hard having her leave knowing Sawyer will have changed so much the next time they see each other. Luckily, there are things such as Skype and Blogs so she can still see pictures of him daily. Matt's brother Tim also left to go back today and Brent (Kerri's Husband) had to leave yesterday to go back to work, it was fun having everyone together for the weekend. Now only if Ron, Scott, Amelia, their kids, and my Brother Tyler and his Wife Tammy could have been here I think it would have been perfect.

We have to go back to the Pediatrician for Sawyer's 2 week check up on Wednesday, and after our adventure last time which consisted of a 3 hour doctor's appointment, Sawyer's heel getting pricked three times, and Sawyer pooping so much that we ran out of diapers. I'm definitely not looking forward to this visit, lets pray this one goes a little easier and I'll be bringing a lot more diapers with me.

One Week Old

Our Family :)
Matt, Me, Sawyer, and Howie

It's hard to believe that one week ago today Sawyer was born, it's amazing how much he is growing and changing already. Time seems to be going by so fast and I know it's only going to keep going faster.

There were a lot of visitors today. My Aunt Lynne, Uncle Dan, and Cousin Kari came to visit and see Sawyer.

Then later in the day, Matt's sister Kerri, her husband Brent and their two kids Kenzie and Camden came to visit. Brent has to leave tomorrow, Kerri is staying all week, and next week her and Brent get to go on a vacation so Kenzie and Camden will stay an extra week. They will get to spend a lot of time with their new cousin Sawyer which will be a lot of fun.

Only 6 Days Old..

I didn't really have much time to blog yesterday. Sawyer had a long night.. He didn't sleep from about 3:00 am until 6:45 am. His tummy was upset, I think he had gas. He napped most of the day which is when Matt and I took our naps too. Dani had to go home, Sawyer was sad to see his "Aunt" Dani leave.Christy Bauer got to stop by for a bit and see Sawyer before she had to catch a plane back to Omaha.Dani and Sawyer together before she had to leave

Sawyer's umbilical cord fell of yesterday! I was feeding him and when I got up and looked down at my shirt I was surprised to find it stuck to me. Also, Matt put the stroller together so we can all three go on walks together. Uncle Tim and Kim also visited today with some friends. Sawyer enjoyed getting to see them all too.

Later last night, Sawyer, Grandma Judy, Granny Moore, Grandpa Moore, and me all went to go and get ice cream, another fun outing! Today My Uncle Dan, Aunt Lynne, and Cousin Kari are coming to visit for about an hour and see Sawyer for the first time. Then later Sawyer's Aunt Kerri, Uncle Brent, and Cousins Kenzie and Camden are coming and visiting for a few weeks. It will be fun to see what Camden and Kenzie think of Sawyer and what he thinks of them. I'm excited that Camden and Sawyer aren't far apart in age, Camden will be 2 in October!Sawyer and Grandpa Moore snuggling before going to get ice cream

First Sponge Bath

Sawyer had a good night last night he slept for about 3-4 hours at a time, except at 2:30 am he woke up to eat and have his diaper changed and enjoyed spending an hour looking around the room at things and rocking in the rocking chair. This afternoon was fun, Grandma Judy gave Sawyer his first sponge bath. He seems so strong already he is lifting his head and trying to look around a lot. He is also making plenty of cute baby noises that I can't get enough of. Before the first bath pictures are some pictures from Sawyer's first outing and the night before.Sawyer snuggling with Daddy

Sawyer's First Outing and Pictures From the Hospital

Sawyer Dale Moore was born on July 17, 2010 at 12:41pm. It was about 5:00 am in the morning when I started having contractions. At first I thought that it was just going to be Braxton Hicks contractions and it would pass. After a little while it wasn't going away and Matt woke up wondering if I was ok. I told him I was pretty sure I was having contractions. So we layed in bed for a little bit and began to time how long they were and how far apart they were. Then we got up and walked around a little bit. Matt called the hospital and we started to get all of our bags together to go. It was about 7:00 am when we went into the hospital. I ended up getting an epideral a few hours later, I can't remember what time because I was more focused on other things. Then at 12:41 pm Sawyer was born. Sawyer, Matt, and I had a lot of visitors. My mom (Judy), Matt's Mom (Becky), Matt's Dad (Paul), Dani Bachman who was my roommate in college, James Fonda and Mark Wong who are Matt's friends from college, Matt's brother Tim and his girlfriend Kim, Matt's oldest brother Scott, his wife Amelia, and their two boys Micah and Elliot. It was so nice to have so much family there with us. Our first day home from the hospital was on the 19th and after 2 days in the hospital we were all ready to be home.

Today was Sawyer's first outing. Nothing too exciting, just his first visit to see the pediatrician. His appointment was at 1:00 and we didn't get done until about 3:30. They had to test him for jaundice because they thought he was looking pretty yellow and had to prick his heel three times to get enough blood out. Poor little Sawyer had a rough day, which then lead to a lot of napping later on. My mom and my roommate from college are still in town, my mom has almost been here for three weeks and Dani will leave on Friday after being here for a week. It's been wonderful having their help along with the help of Granny and Grandpa Moore too. Matt and I are beginning to adjust to our new sleep schedule. I still can't believe that Sawyer is finally here with us. I love being able to look over into his bassinet and see him sleeping. He is so precious and I love him so much. I'll post pictures of his first outing soon. Until then, enjoy the pictures from when Sawyer was in the hospital.
